This is Lucy Bickley, my mother's mother. Charlie Dove's daughter said she was the prettiest woman she'd ever known and if this is a fair likeness, I think they might just be right. We only know her through photographs and a few recollections of family members, mostly long dead, for she died young, just shy of her 39th birthday, leaving her husband and her mother to bring up her two young children, Carolyn and Sam.
